Now I’ve seen the TV-show ‘The Lost World’ based on Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle’s novel but I never really ”looked” further into the story. Thank you National Geographic. I’m still in awe after seeing it’s documentary; The Real Lost World. Amazing doesn’t even come close describing that place, it goes beyond your imagination. Deep in the heart of Venezuela’s jungle lies the Gran Sabana with what locals call tepuis (flat topped mountains). This tepuis are estimated to be at least 1.8 billion years old. I know right, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Some tepuis are covered with a swampy surface while others are covered with sandstone. Of all the tepuis Mount Roraima is the most famous tepui but tepui Salto Angel has the highest waterfall in the world. The first thing that came to mind when the documentary ended was; BUCKET LIST! Of course I started to do some Google research. And sure enough I found several Gran Sabana and Mount Roraima expedition packages. Although I want to see travel the whole world this place and seeing the Aurora Borealis are pretty much were I’m saving my money for.
